Mobile NDR Security

The first time you start the Mobile NDR application on your iPhone or iPad, the system will have to determine who you are. You will be asked to provide your Ned Davis Research (NDR) login and password. Once the system has validated you, your device PIN will be recognized every time you start the application.

Push Notifications

Mobile NDR is capable of utilizing the Apple Push Notification system. The first time you start the application, you will be asked if you would like to immediately set up push notifications. You can change your push notification settings from the Settings menu at any time. We currently offer push notifications for important NDRG events like our periodic customer conference calls.

Recent Publications

The Mobile NDR Recents menu item will display links to relatively recent versions of our publications. This is the same list that is available from the ndr.com front page.

Saved Publications

NDRG publications can now be saved to your device for offline viewing. To save a publication, either open the pub then tap the 'Action' button in the top navigation bar, then tap 'Save Pub' or, while viewing a list of products, swipe on the row for the pub you want to save, then tap the 'Save' button that is revealed. The same actions delete an existing, saved publication.

In product lists, saved pubs are shown with a light blue background making it easier to know what you have already saved. A connection to the Internet is required to download and save a publication.

Pushed Publications

If you receive our publications via email hyperlink, clicking on such a hyperlink from your Email Inbox will instantiate Mobile NDR and then display the selected publication. Note that pushed publications are only available this way for a limited time, currently about three weeks. After that, you will need to utilize our Search feature, described below, to find the publication as an archived product.

Publication Viewing Modes

Relatively recent versions of our publications can be viewed in full PDF mode or in text-only mode, adjustable from the Settings menu. Archived publications, available via our Search feature, described below, will only be available as full PDFs. Other archived and searchable products will only be available in their native format, either PDF or HTML. Mobile NDR supports the same touch screen zooming and panning capabilities that most PDF or HTML based iOS applications do.

The Mobile NDR Search menu item provides access to all recent and archived publications, charts, reports, stock and ETF tearsheets, and studies that you are authorized to view. The filters on the search screen allow you to narrow down product types.

Conference Calls

Recorded conference calls can now be played on your device through the Mobile NDR app under the Conference Call menu. Tap the conference call you wish to listen to and playback will begin after a moment. Playback will continue even while your device is locked or viewing other applications so long as Mobile NDR remains launched in the background.

Conference calls can also be downloaded to your device for offline playback in the same manner as publications (See the Saved Publications section for details). A connection to the Internet is required to download and save a conference call.

Recommendations Dashboard

The Recommendations menu item displays our asset, equity, and sector recommendations and weightings with links to supporting charts and reports. It is an abbreviated version of our ndr.com Recommendations Dashboard.

Troubleshooting

Mobile NDR depends on the iOS device having a reliable Internet connection in order to communicate with NDRG servers. Most of the problems people might experience while using Mobile NDR are a result of some type of problem with Internet connectivity from the device. For example, the application will not work if the device is in Airplane mode. Slow response times from the application point to poor or intermittent Internet connectivity.

If you are having a problem that is not related to your internet connectivity or carrier network, or you are not sure if this is the case, contact NDRG technical support at 888-589-4580 or 941-412-2300 or ClientTechSupport@ndr.com. Note that there is additional information, as well as a FAQ, at the Mobile NDR information page.
